Death of the King of Pop


Michael Joseph Jackson (August 29, 1958 – June 25, 2009) was an American recording artist, entertainer and businessman. The seventh child of the Jackson family, he made his debut as an entertainer in 1968 as a member of the Jackson 5. He was one of the greatest and most memorable artists of our generation selling more than 750 million albums world wide. Michael Jackson changed the world with songs such as Billy Jean, Beat it, Thriller, bad, Dirty Diana, Black or White, and We are the World. He was one of the few inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice. Other achievements include 13 Grammy awards, 13 number 1 hits, and most successful entertainer of all time. No one could ever forget the moon walk and the Neverland ranch in California. Hew was later named as the King of Pop. Although his career has been dubbed with scandals such as the plastic surgery scandal and the child molestation Scandal he overcame that and still remained as one of the greatest singers of all time. On June 25, 2009 Michael Jackson collapsed in his rented home in L.A.Attempts at resuscitating him by his personal physician were unsuccessful. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics received a 911 call at 12:22 p.m. arriving three minutes and seventeen seconds later at Jackson's location. He was reportedly not breathing and CPR was performed. Resuscitation efforts continued both en route to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, and for an hour further after arriving at approximately 1:13 p.m. (20:13 UTC). He was noted to have been in cardiac arrest by the paramedics who attended him at his house. Jackson was pronounced dead at approximately 2:25 p.m. local time (21:25 UTC). Rumors and news of Jackson's death broke web records, triggering a cyberspace traffic jam. Although his death will be mourned all over the world Michael Jackson will forever be remembered for his contribution to the music industry and his kindness.
